24 TN fishermen arrested by Lankan authorities

24 TN fishermen arrested by Lankan authorities

The new ad by carwale has generated controversy after the scene showed a doctor on the phone trying to get more bags of A blood group but instead said 19-20 ka farak hai. A nahin toh AB de do. The health ministry were quick to react on the advertisement stating that the interchanging of the blood type has been a big myth on the blood donations front and asked for the ad to be pulled off air.

Supreme court allows CBI to file charges against Birla group

The Supreme court has allowed the CBI to frame charges against the Birla group after CBI uncovered 25 crores of money left unaccounted for as well as a diary which showed different 'payments ' to politicians as well as other very critical documents which were seized from the head office. There continues to be heavy tussle between the CBI and the ED over the case as the court expressed it's frustration over the investigation's pace and demanded for the investigation to be concluded by December end.

Textile ministry unearths jute bag scam

The Textiles ministry unearthed a massive racket by suppliers of jute bags to the government, As per The Jute Packaging Materials (Compulsory Use in Packing Commodities) Act, 1987, it states for manufacturers to produce their bag and sell it, however the sellers are importing cheap jute bags from Nepal and Bangladesh, adding their own seals and selling it at high costs which have affected local producers and farmers.

Phase 1 of Bihar elections sees 57 % turnout

The first phase of the Bihar elections which was held in 49 constituencies for 49 seats went through peacefully even in Maoist affected areas. The security remained tight throughout but the voter turnout left everyone surprised as 57 % of the public turned up to vote with the number of women outnumbering the men. The NDA was particularly happy with hopes of the grand alliance between Nitish Kumar and Lalu prasad Yadav working out as a result.
